New Ther1-derived SINE Squam3 in scaled reptiles

چکیده
Abstract Background SINEs comprise a significant part of animal genomes and are used to study the evolution diverse taxa. Despite advances in SINE studies vertebrates higher eukaryotes general, their own is poorly understood. Results We have discovered described detail new Squam3 specific for scaled reptiles (Squamata). The subfamilies this demonstrate different distribution squamates, which together with data on similar tuatara allowed us propose scenario context reptilian evolution. Conclusions Ancestral preserved small numbers most can give rise taxa-specific families. Analysis aspect shed light history mechanisms variation genomes.

New country records of reptiles from Laos
FOUR SPECIES OF REPTILES, OF WHICH ONE IS REPRESENTED BY ONE OF ITS SUBSPECIES, ARE RECORDED FOR THE FIRST TIME FROM LAOS: Cyrtodactylusphongnhakebangensis, Lycodonfutsingensis, and Lycodonruhstrati, as Lycodonruhstratiabditus, from limestone forests in Khammouane Province and Cyrtodactyluspseudoquadrivirgatus from hill evergreen forest in Salavan Province. These discoveries of lizards and snak...
متن کاملThe mechanism of cardiac shunting in reptiles: a new synthesis.
The mechanism of cardiac shunting in reptiles is controversial. Recent evidence suggests that a right-to-left shunt in turtles results primarily from a washout mechanism. The mechanism that accounts for left-to-right (L-R) shunting is unresolved. This study used haemodynamic analysis and digital subtraction angiography to determine the mechanism of L-R cardiac shunting in the turtle Trachemys (...
متن کاملObjective auditory threshold estimation using sine-wave derived responses.
A derived response method of acquiring frequency specific auditory evoked potentials that utilizes a pure tone in combination with a toneburst is applied to the measurement of hearing sensitivity in guinea pigs, chinchillas and pocket gophers. Two experiments which demonstrate that thresholds acquired via tone-derived responses are 10 to 15 dB more sensitive than thresholds to solitary toneburs...
متن کاملFrequently observed parasites in pet reptiles’ feces in Tehran
Backgrounds Many wild-caught reptiles harbor some kind of parasites. Captivity with negative effect of poor sanitary and husbandry management may lead to clinical disease. The increasing trend in keeping non-native reptile species in the last decade emerged a need for the specification of reptile parasites and their hosts. Objectives The study aims to gain data on intestinal parasites of repti...
متن کاملWound Care in Reptiles
Reptiles are often presented to wildlife carers with various types and grades of wounds. Reptile wound healing rates are comparatively slower when compared to healing rates in mammals and birds. With appropriate wound management we hope to significantly reduce wound healing rates. How we manage a reptile‟s wounds will impact on the healing rate and thus influence the reptile‟s required time in ...
